Rome represents an interesting case study of the informal/illegal city and of its regeneration processes that are taking place even through the involvement of its inhabitants. This is a relevant problem all over the world, but it’s specifically interesting in a western country. This paper will focus on the analysis of: the recent changes which are characterizing this phenomenon (through an interdisciplinary approach aimed at critically analyzing its dynamics) and the connected regeneration policies (through a complex approach aimed at outlining their ambiguities).
