Disaster preparedness, feelings of worry and likelihood judgments concerning the occurrence of a future flood disaster have been collected by means of a survey administered to 407 persons living in nine villages surrounding the Lys river (Aosta Valley). Descriptive analyses show direct relation between likelihood judgments and feelings of worry; this last one is also in relation with adoption of protective behaviours and others socio-demographic and experiential characteristics. Multivariate analyses indicate that adoption of protective behaviour is associated with feelings of worry, while there is no relation between likelihood judgments and disaster preparedness.
