With this contribution it is intended to give a first critical examination of the changes introduced in the dairy industry by Law no. 91 of 2nd July 2015, containing interventions of relaunch and support of those industries affected by exceptional events. The author also wonders whether the regulatory measures are adequate enough to manage the transition from a production quota system to a liberalized one. There is a need to verify if the objective set by the European legislator - i.e. to provide the producers of raw material with a greater contractual and economical power - can be achieved, and if the legislative instruments available are suitable and sufficient for this purpose. The author also seeks to ascertain whether the measures adopted for that industry could be extended to the entire agribusiness market. In particular, it is an analysis of the articles of the aforementioned legislative provision regarding dairy products. This analysis has been conducted using a critical approach, examining the dispositions that raise more concerns both in terms of interpretation and practical operations. With an historical overview, the author gives a brief survey of the legislation and the contractual models that have characterized the EU dairy industry since the introduction of the Common Agricultural Policy, paying greater attention to the changes that have occurred since 2007. In conclusion, the author presents some final considerations.
