Abstract:
The ten crucial years for the climate - According to the scientific community next decade will be critical for the starting of the energy and industrial transformations necessary to avoid irreversible climate damages. For this reason the negotiations for a post-Kyoto treaty are important and the policies on energy efficiency and renewable energies should have total priority. The signals of a positive global agreement by 2010 and the launch of aggressive policies in these specific areas by some countries raise hopes of a limitation of the climate change impacts.
