Abstract:
The aim of the paper is to point out the observable effects of regulation on Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), by discussing the main settings in which this connection arises and develops. Particular attention is devoted not only to traditional factors, such as compliance costs, but also to less immediate elements, as the role of the regulation on access credit, on technological innovation and on the labour market. In particular, the analysis shows that the quality of regulation has a very important role both for the survival and the yield of SMEs.
