Right-wing history from opposition to government examines the rapid increase in the past fifteen years in the number of journals of popularizing history close to rightwing politics. They transmit to an average reading public a revisionist version of history analogous to that transmitted by some academic journals and some political institutions. The historical discourse, that previously had been the privileged instrument for the left in the formation of the ruling class in the Italian republic, now appears to be the perquisite of Berlusconi’s Popolo della libertà. A political culture of the right, that previously was the expression of a minority opposition, now tends to become hegemonic, in support of the politics of the government.

Keywords: Italy, popularizing history, revisionism, right-wing politics.
