Learn to change your mind. Notes on theatrical "setting". "Setting’s" theatrical rules can be violated by either rudeness or rebellion. Andrea Camilleri offers a playful rebellion in his Birraio di Preston’s novel, while Pirandello’s one is leaving us floating for an answer. Is theatre still making sense in our media society? The statistical data prove that theatre is on a path of slow decay, in order to reverse that we need to go back to the original "setting" rules. Those rules will lead us onto a new definition of theatre. Theatre needs to operate in the same field of consciousness and democracy and by doing that we will discover that truth is between us open for discussion. On the other hand marvel and distraction are defining the field of show-business and digital worlds. Theatre is not only about show business, the audience is not always a witness, how do we fight back this crisis? We need to open all its doors to bring new life in and to rebuild it in new settings closer to the communities.
