Quadrimestrale di storia contemporanea dell’Associazione culturale Memoria e Ricerca di Forlì e della Biblioteca di storia contemporanea A. Oriani di Ravenna Memoria e Ricerca is the journal of the Casa di Oriani Foundation, an important Italian cultural institute specialising in contemporary history and political-social studies. The objective of the journal, which was founded in 1993, is to promote development of a comparative regional history in Italy and Europe with the purpose of better defining and understanding the territorial contexts of historical processes and thus to contribute to a historiography increasingly open to productive convergence with the social sciences. Each monographic issue has thus dealt with a wide-ranging theme (local fascism, emigrant communities, political parties in the post-war period, the media, environmental safeguarding policies, the languages and instruments of online history online, freemasonry etc.) with original research that can be compared by European region. Memoria e Ricerca also includes sections dedicated to debate and to historiographic reviews and discussions. In addition, and to meet the need for up-to-date information on technological innovations in the communications field, the ‘Spazi Online’ column analyses and compares the new tools and services that the latest IT breakthroughs offer the world of contemporary historical research.
