Title: Bookkeeping methods and accounting controls: Developments within the Abbey of Montecassino from the 15th to the 17th century
Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to discover the connection between the introduction of the double entry bookkeeping method and accounting controls within the Abbey of Montecassino. In particular, the analysis aims to explore the accounting history at the time of the entrance into the Santa Giustina Congregation from the 15th to 17th century. Adopting a diachronic approach, the paper is developed with the aim to understanding if there is a link between entrance into the Santa Giustina congregation and introduction of the double bookkeeping method in 1504. It proves that accounting behaviours are strongly connected with the need for controls between accountants and external users of accounting books, confirming the hypothesis of the new accounting history theory that considers bookkeeping as social construction. The methodology is based on a comparison between two different methods of recording in the Abbey of Montecassino: the first refers to the period from 1450 to 1504 (Commendatory era) while the second considers the period after entrance into the Santa Giustina Congregation in 1504.

Title: Alle origini delle discipline aziendali: l?opera di G.A. Tagliente
Abstract: Il saggio presenta il lavoro di un autore italiano del XVI secolo, G. A. Tagliente, dandone un?interpretazione storiografica da un punto di vista economicoaziendale. L?indagine si inserisce in un pi? vasto progetto di ricerca sugli autori di contabilit? della prima Era moderna, ed ? volta a collocare i contenuti, analiticamente studiati, ai contesti sociali ed economici di riferimento. Nel saggio gli aspetti biografici sono collocati nella Venezia del primo Cinquecento e l?intera produzione dell?Autore ? passata in rassegna, prima di concentrarsi su quella propriamente economico-aziendale. Egli fu il secondo scrittore di partita doppia, dopo l?opera del Paciolo. Egli pubblic? anche libri di matematica mercantile, ma la sua fortuna ? dovuta soprattutto all?unico trattato sulla "partita semplice", a quei tempi molto diffusa tra le piccole e medie imprese. Sebbene "minore" rispetto al grande Luca Pacioli, con lui inizia un percorso che avrebbe condotto, infine, all?istituzione di una nuova corrente di pensiero: la Ragioneria
come la riconosciamo ancor oggi. Per certi versi, inoltre, sottoline? alcuni aspetti aziendali non ancora ben esplorati, come l?amministrazione familiare, fatti di gestione straordinaria, immobilizzazioni materiali o altri argomenti particolari.
