Title: Contabilit? monetaria e contabilit? ambientale
Abstract: Contabilit? monetaria e contabilit? ambientale (di Giorgio Nebbia) - ABSTRACT: The flows of materials through the economy are presented in un input-output table. The table includes the resources (both free and "economic") extracted from the natural bodies (air, waters, soil, and "stocks" of minerals, stones, and fossil fuels). For the principle of mass conservation most of the materials used by the economic activity branches are returned to the natural bodies as wastes. A part of the materials flowing through the economic branches are enbodied in stocks (buildings, roads, machinery, goods having a life longer than the year at which the input-output analysis is referred). Keeping into consideration also the material imports and exports, it is possible to evaluate a Gross National Material Product (GNMP), in mass units, formally similar at, and superposable to, the monetary GNP. For Italy in 1995 the GNMP has been evaluated in little more than 600 million metric tons, corresponding at about 11 tons per person per year. The applications of the analysis and the open problems are reviewed.

Title: La riforma dell'assistenza in Italia e i quasi-mercati
Abstract: La riforma dell?assistenza in Italia e i quasi-mercati (di Luca Fazzi) - ABSTRACT: The idea of quasi-market in the social care sector is to introduce market principles (and hence market disciplines) into the public sector by separating purchasing from providing, and to change the balance in the mixed economy of welfare such that the state provided fewer services and the private sector provided more. This article examines the implications of the quasi-market idea for the role of the state and the quality of care. In contrast to the consensus in welfare scholarship, this article want to claim that are very important limits to this approach though. A critical point of view point indicates that for the implementation of quasi-market mechanisms in the social care sector is necessary a more comprehensive consideration of problems and changes as they are actually analyzed.

Title: Caratteristiche industriali e occupazionali del terzo settore: il caso della Toscana
Abstract: Caratteristiche industriali e occupazionali del terzo settore: il caso della Toscana (di Alberto Baccini, Nicola Sciclone e Michelangelo Vasta) - ABSTRACT: This study arises out of the need to deepen - with a special regard to Tuscany - the many analysis cues that the nonprofit sector offers both in a theoretic and in an operating way (i.e., its pursued mission and acquitted functions, its relation with local government institutions and the market, organizing and industrial description, occupational impact and expressed job demand). These aspects have been measured by means of a questionnaire, which was distributed to a representative sample of nonprofit organizations in Tuscany. The collected data allow the definition of an interpretative course that explains the nonprofit sector?s arising, development, potentials, and limits in a restricted area such as Tuscany.
