Title: Fonti rinnovabili, piani energetici e strategie per il paese
Abstract: Fonti rinnovabili, piani energetici e strategie per il paese - Italy, as the other European countries, has to comply with ambitious energy targets for the end of next decade. This effort could represent a great opportunity for the local energy efficiency and renewable industry, at present not very strong in our country, but it is quite unclear if we will catch this green wave. Italy has already lost a great opportunity when, at the end of the eighties, the Government canceled the nuclear activity but was not able to radically change the energy strategy and invest in the renewable sector. In these days the decision to reintroduce the nuclear power may distract the financial, industrial and intellectual resources from the effort necessary to reach the 2020 targets and to create a strong green industry.

Title: Rinnovabili e/o nucleare. Come l'energia pu? combattere i cambiamenti climatici
Abstract: Rinnovabili e/o nucleare. Come l'energia pu? combattere i cambiamenti climatici - The new point of view in climatology, that tells us of abrupt climate change (2002), has compelled the world scientific community to ask the G8 of Gleneagles (2005) for a "prompt action" in order to face the dramatic link energy/climate change properly. This request has already become a matter of policy decisions, see the "three 20%" stated by European Union as the objective at 2020 and the 150 billions of dollars program of Obama. What?s the role, in this perspective, of renewable energy sources and nuclear one? The present paper shows the inconsistency of the "nuclear renaissance" and the incompatibility, specially for our country, between the nuclear choice launched by the Italian government and the 2020 EU objective, mainly but not only for economical reasons.

Title: Recupero di energia dai rifiuti: dall'economia del danno all'economia del benessere
Abstract: Recupero di energia dai rifiuti: dall'economia del danno all'economia del benessere - The organization of an economical system is based on a flux of energy and materials that receive from the external environment. In nature evolution move systems to a growing efficiency in circulating energy and materials to let them producing positive effects implementing the internal organization, to create new opportunities to move far from equilibrium, to create differences. But while natural systems operate cyclic processes, economical systems are linear, and using concentrated resources as input and producing wastes that spread in the environment in a way that make them no more reusable, as much it success in growth as much it approximate its end. From an energy life cycle analysis of a material used in an economical process we can see that is much more efficient reuse goods and recycle materials than incinerate them. For instance we study the case of a PET bottle to deduce that reusing 20 times a 50g PET bottle can save 5 times more energy than electricity produced by burning 20 one-use 25g bottles in an incinerator.
