In the first part, we introduce the concepts of risk governance and social vulnerability. Subsequently, we present the results of a research on social vulnerability, resilience and seismic risk in Lombardy. The study, applied to the municipalities of Lombardy, consists in mapping relevant socio-territorial features and in combining them with seismic hazard. The aim of the research is to provide the actors of risk governance with innovative transdisciplinary information. The maps are considered as an insightful means of communication, which, potentially, may render the process of risk governance more aware of socioterritorial features and therefore more equitable. Mazur?s hypothesis is exclusively and simply quantitative: the more the media cover a technoscientific issue, the more the public is brought to take a position against them. Few contributions that have tested Mazur?s hypothesis, directly or indirectly, have found a rather weak relationship between media exposure and public opinion. In this paper, I conducted an analysis on media coverage of food in Italy in the period 2010-2016. I calculated a risk index in the corpus of newspaper articles. This measure is used to compare it with longitudinal public opinion surveys to test this presumed "direct effect" of media. Un caso marchigiano Abstract: The article focuses on the role of the environment in community recovery processes after a natural disaster, and therefore on the impact of the transformations in the phase following the first emergency. What are the effects, sometimes irreversible, that the earthquake produces on the social relations within the communities, on the relations between them with wider social systems and the environment? To what extent can the emergency management and the postemergence phase accentuate the impact of seismic events? What is the potential role of local and supra-local networks in producing responses to the risks of spatial fragmentation of the population and declining of the affected areas? After a brief introduction, the first part of the text is dedicated to a theoretical explanation of the terms of the problem of community recovery, with particular regard to environmental dimensions and reference to the contributions of international literature. In the second part we will try to answer the above questions starting from a case study, in which the authors were directly involved in socio-psychological support to a community of the other Macerata, hit by the Central Italy?s earthquakes in 2016. The analysis of the legislation that determines the effects of the measures implemented shows how the choices made by the institutions in charge have favored the processes of displacement and simultaneously generated opportunities for the inactive real estate market. Finally, the case of Tolentino is considered as paradigmatic respect to the housing parabola of vulnerable groups affected by the socio-natural disaster. Many ICT technologies have peculiar features and adoption behaviours, compared to typical "stand alone" products. Therefore, it is important to carry out an overview of diffusion models to understand ways of extending existing models to explain the most complex technologies. This paper covers the state of the art of the literature on the diffusion of innovations. In particular, the work focuses on fundamental concepts of technological diffusion, and on the main models that have characterized this literature. The review uses numerical and graphical examples to better explain the fundamental issues of diffusion, because ICT technologies are now an integral part of the daily life of people, societies and economies.
