The article presents the results of a research on secondary school in Emilia Romagna and addresses the issue of early school dropout. The data concern, in particular, the type of resources used by the schools, their tools and objectives, the work carried out online, and the expectations of the schools. The article analyses the results on a regional level but also offers an outline of the situation in each province of Emilia Romagna. It identifies good practices and covers certain issues like the common need for a more systematic approach to assessing the measures implemented.

La sociologia relazionale offre un originale contributo per comprendere i problemi che la società, la teoria e la ricerca sociale sono chiamate ad affrontare. Il volume rilegge in chiave relazionale alcuni temi fondamentali della sociologia: il concetto di relazione sociale; il ruolo della persona nell’emergenza delle soggettività sociali e quello della cultura nelle trasformazioni sociali; la morfogenesi della famiglia; l’analisi delle reti sociali.

Il volume studia la transizione all’età adulta secondo una prospettiva conoscitiva che consente di osservare simultaneamente l’intreccio morfogenetico tra dimensione strutturale e individuale dei processi. Si fa strada l’ipotesi che il processo di transizione all’età adulta sia un percorso di maturazione, dove, attraverso la conversazione interiore, il giovane può costruire la propria identità personale e investire se stesso nei ruoli e nelle posizioni sociali. Il giovane istituisce la propria adultità impegnandosi responsabilmente in un agire socialmente generativo.

At the international level, in the last years, the theme of the body has become more and more relevant for those scholars who deal with the Durkheimian sociology of culture. From the sociological point of view, the body is strictly connected with the duality of human nature as it is represented in culture. This paper shows that this duality is expressed in four cultural polarities body and soul, male and female, individual and society, sacred and profane and that in the definition of these polarities proposed by Durkheim in his works, in particular in the description of the male and of the female, the body plays a fundamental role.

This is the first paper published in Italy on the sociology of the body of David le Breton. This French author criticizes the devaluation of the body carried out by the (gnostic and cartesian) dualism and by those who consider the body like a sketch to be corrected or even erased in its whole because of its imperfection. In particular, the essay focuses on the relationship between identity and pain. Pain is a “self-tear” breaking the obviousness of the relationship to the world. It lies at the intersection of body, society, culture and involves moral suffering. If a plurality of sufferings does exist, it is first because of the plurality of pains: self pain, inflicted pain, pain as a boundary of identity, pain as a boundary of senses, pain as a sustain of ecstasy.
