Evaluation, citizenship, participation. Reasons for a monographic number - Since recent years evaluation debate concentrates on relationships between evaluation and decisional processes and procedures, but also on evaluation utility and on its own public role. Nowadays these reflections are strongly supported by considerations on the new linkages that have been created between evaluation practices (from one side) and the new forms of social mobilization (from the other) that reveal their intense connections both with citizenship (as thematic focus of evaluation and social mobilization claims) and with participation (as the place and at the same time the method for reconstructing legitimacy of public action sphere). This monographic number brings together theoretical-epistemological and methodological contributions as well as case studies and operational considerations, thereby contributing to an important progress of the overall debate on the issue.
