Professional reform community oriented and the increase of qualified occupations make it useful an analysis about the way in which professions are reconfiguring themselves in most qualified and crowded workplaces. In social field it is also point out a welfare system reform that is leading to an increase in roles and skills fragmentation. To understand the actual processes of professional re-institutionalization, author suggests a multidimensional key of analysis, which considers simultaneously several analytical perspectives, called formal, relational and individual. Guided by these perspectives, author has made a research to investigate social worker’s status in Sicily, the Italian region with the highest number of professionals registered on social workers' list. Considered survey’s results, proposed perspectives seems confirms themselves as a strategic key to understand the current social worker’s status in its field of work.
