The present study aims at exploring the psychometric properties of the GIDYQ-AA, a questionnaire to measure Gender dysphoria. We assessed its factorial structure, the presence of differences in relation to sexual orientation and Gen- der dysphoria, and the relationship with criterion measures including general functioning and identity integration. Methods: the sample is composed of 207 volunteers (84 males, 123 females) and patients admitted to a unit specialized in Gender identity disorder. All participants completed the GIDYQ-AA and a set of questionnaires to assess relevant criterion measures. Results: the GIDYQ-AA, showed a single factor structure; the GIDYQ-AA score allowed to discriminate the non clinical group according to sexual orientation and the control group from the clinical sample. Associations emerged with all criterion measures. Conclusions: results support the adoption of the GIDYQ-AA as a screening instrument for the assessment of Gender dysphoria.
