The essay will focus on the division of legislative competence between the State and the regions in the field of vocational education. The most recent judgments of the Constitutional Court of Italy will be analyzed (starting from Constitutional Court, judgment n. 287/2012) in order to identify those issues which are still unresolved. Specifically, the text will examine the difficulties in the qualification as exclusive and not only residual of legislative competence of the regions in the matter of vocational education. For that purpose, there will be presented the different means of the Italian legislator to intervene in this particular subject through the regulation of legislative powers of the regions.
