L’evoluzione dell’idea di welfare: verso il welfare civile

After considering the reasons explaining the crisis both of the welfare capitalism model, typical of the American tradition, and of the European welfare state model, the essay discusses which characteristics a welfare model adequate to present times should exhibit. The proposal of a civil welfare model is then advanced to cope with the challenges facing our societies
