This paper shows the results of a research project on territorial conflicts in the Veneto region. The research describes the various types of conflicts connected with territorial transformations. The number of conflicts and active committees suggests a lifelong interest in environmental issues, highlights the significant role that land development and land use dynamics are playing in this new phenomenon, highlights the dimension of the phenomenon. Participation in committees and movements should be read as a desire for active involvement in the processes of territorial transformation, to influence decisions that have direct impact on citizens and the quality of their life. In addition, a non-rational use of land and planning policies show the limits of planning choices made at different levels of government (regional, provincial, municipal).
