The books of the Jews and for the Jews are at the center of an interesting series of studies. Multiple perspectives intersect: from the socio-economic approach to cultural, political and inquisitorial history. The essay focuses on the 18th Century Jewish Community of Ancona and on the analysis of the religious, economic, familiar implications of the vicissitudes that occurred to a neophyte and his family bibles. This analysis enabled us to advance hypotheses on the nexus between the possession of objects of faith and self-perception. In brief, invite to investigate on the clues of the individual’s selfdefinition, as it is described in a case of conversion.
