This article begins with a consideration oft paradigms of complexity in which the concept of field is located and which underlines the psycho-social matrix of Gestalt theory. Continuing, the paper highlights the centrality of the body in the experiential process, including unconventional states of consciousness, and analyzes perception as a creative act, which builds the internal and external reality that are mediated by the activity of the senses. The article underlines the importance and the implications of perceptual reciprocity in the construction of personal identity. It introduces the concept of body as a field sensor with importance in the therapeutic process.
