Il lavoro dei caregiver formali è connotato da stimoli stressanti che possono influenzare negativamente la qualità di vita percepita e quindi ridurre l’efficacia della prestazione pro-fessionale. L’obiettivo della ricerca è stato quello di indagare gli effetti dello stress percepito dai caregiver formali, che sperimentano situazioni logoranti sul lavoro, sulla qualità di vita professionale misurata mediante una serie di outcomes (compassion satisfaction, secondary traumatic stress e burnout). Inoltre, è stata analizzata l’influenza della percezione soggettiva della qualità di vita sulla relazione tra stress e qualità di vita professionale. Lo studio ha coinvolto 321 caregiver professionali (130 uomini; 191 donne) reclutati presso strutture sa-nitarie ed ospedaliere pubbliche e private. Gli strumenti utilizzati per l’indagine sono stati: ProQoL, Mesure du Stress Psychologique e Satisfaction With Life Scale. I risultati hanno dimostrato che la percezione della qualità di vita del caregiver formale influenza la propria capacità di gestire lo stress, evidenziando dunque la necessità di migliorare il benessere globale dei caregiver e la compliance del paziente.;
