L’articolo indaga il fenomeno dell’invecchiamento delle lavoratrici migranti impiegate nel settore dei servizi domestici e di cura, offrendo una particolare angolatura a partire dalla comparazione di due flussi migratori che interessano donne di mezz’età: le peruviane in Spagna e le ucraine in Italia. L’analisi approfondisce il rapporto tra l’invecchiamento e i processi migratori. Il saggio, da un lato, illustra come gli inadeguati schemi pensionistici dei paesi di origine sono alla base delle scelte migratorie delle donne intervistate e, dall’altro lato, mette in luce quali sono le prospettive di pensionamento delle lavoratrici ucraine e peruviane, evidenziando il rischio che corrono di diventare pensionate povere. L’analisi si basa su dati raccolti nell’arco di un lungo periodo di tempo attraverso metodologie qualitative, quali interviste semi-strutturate, conversazioni aperte, osservazioni partecipanti ed etnografie multi-situate.;
