Questo saggio analizza, con un approccio storico-critico e interdisciplinare, come la mutevolezza delle relazioni tra territorio, potere, governance e identità sociale si siano espresse nel tempo e su questioni territoriali tra Hong Kong e la Cina. Si osserva come la pratica di continua (ri)definizione del confine internazionale, risultato della flessibile geopolitica coloniale britannica, abbia portato all’applicazione di un paradigma di sviluppo centroperiferia e, a scala urbana, all’adozione di modelli di ‘segregazione spaziale’ e di ‘inclusione sociale esclusiva’, oltre che alla progettazione e produzione di spazi di vita di qualità solo per i gruppi sociali privilegiati.;
