Violence against women is a social problem and has a relevant impact on individual and relational health of victims. In Europe, programs directed to violence perpetrators, as well as to the victims, are fighting against gender violence. In Italy, interventions directed to violence perpetrators were only recently developed. This research aimed at exploring how the personnel of Italian health services deal with perpetrators. Twelve operators of newly established Italian service were interviewed. Interviews collected data related to: representations of perpetrators; emotional experiences with them, difficulties experienced, as well as, the resources activated by the personnel in the intervention with the author of violence. The results highlighted the importance of specialized training for the personnel of services directed to violence perpetra-tors. Furthermore, the data suggested the need of a formal network among institutions and services fighting gender violence. The network should be able to induce the perpetrators to get help. Promoting integrated network protocols, among the various gender violence services, will be a useful strategy to improve health and wellbeing of all actors of gender violence.
