The authors propose a cognitive approach to help people with gender dysphoria who do not intend to undertake medical therapies. This approach helps these patients to experience their bodies as a secure base from which to experiment new ways of expressing their gender identity and achieving a meaningful life. To this end, the Authors refer mainly to the contributions of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, mindfulness and mindful compassion.
