This essay aims at deepening the relationship between work, economy, culture and religion through the contribution offered by Weber, Benjamin and Scheler. It analyzes the reflection paths developed by the three authors, starting from the common interest in the ethical and historical role assumed by the phenomenon of capitalism and concludes with some links between the theoretical hypotheses ad-vanced by the classics with contemporary social thought.
