In the contest of the relationship about economic development, productivity and infrastructures, this paper presents a critical revue of empirical literature and econometric models. This paper lies the regional Total Factor Productivity with two measures of infrastructure: a physical measure and an expendituremeasure. Only the first approach appears useful, and it is relevant the classification between social and economic infrastructures. In Italian region the public expenditure don’t appear relevant and statistically productive, but it is important to subline the strong effect of statistical risk about the relationship between TFPand infrastructure.
