Processi di socializzazione normativa e mediazione scolastica tra pari

This contribution is the result of a theoretical work on socialization processes among children aged between 6 and 12. Since deviant behaviour is the origin of conflict among two groups or two persons, and normative autonomy is achieved through the construction of mutual acknowledgement and trust of the rules, we suggest that any response to deviance should be addressed to the conflict itself. Processes of normative socialization should leave room for negotiation and for the possibility of a common construction of the normative structure. Specifically, processes of school mediation seem to fulfil these two tasks.
