This review summarizes current knowledge about the nature of sexual dysfunctions in breast cancer. The most frequently encountered sexual complaints are: dyspareunia, vaginal dryness, hypoactive desire disorder, orgasmic dysfunction, distortion of body image perception, QoL impairment, depression and anxiety. This paper describes also the principales strategies of sexual counseling, individual coping training, couples-based coping training and couple-focused group intervention.
