Bullying at work, the systematic exposure to negative acts emerged as an important risk factor or stressor on many employees that has a significant effect on physical illness and injury, as well as on job satisfaction and organizational commitment. According to these results, the aim of the present study is to investigate the effect of workplace bullying on job commitment, job satisfaction, burnout and worker’s health. A sample of about 500 Italian workers (70% female) ranging in age from 21 to 68 (Mean age = 40.6, SD = 10.05) was administered a self report questionnaire. A structural equation model approach was used to investigate how workplace bullying influences job satisfaction, organizational commitment, job burnout and psychosomatic complaints. Results confirm that workplace bullying predicts the dimensions examined and that victims of bullying are less satisfied and committed and have higher level of burnout psychosomatic problems.
