Starting from a very interesting movie, Nanni Moretti’s Habemus Papam, the Author focuses on some contents of the collective unconscious. The relationship between the archetypical net of the Vatican government and the astonishing crisis of a new Pope, similar to Cartesius dubito ergo sum, is supposed as a metaphor of a deepest need for transformation. The roots of sacrifice and transcendent function are also considered in regard to the political movement of the indigandos in Western Europe and to the Jasmine Revolution in Maghreb and later in Egypt. Last but not least: the dream, considered as the birth of thinking, works in Jungian analysis until today as a rich legacy of the open system created by C.G. Jung.
