The classic psychodramatic session sets up situations that are distant in time to be staged in immediate proximity to one another. One scene, portraying the protagonist as an adult man is followed by another scene from his childhood, so the session unravels as a sequence resembling ‘real’ or linear time. Parallel Scenes (PS) enables the staging of two (or more than two) episodes simultaneously and reduces the time-span between them. As a result the protagonist can perceive these episodes all together. He can see the adult and the child at the same time along with the corresponding situations. PS speeds up the analysis of what happened then and what happens now and the process of integration of the experience. It saves time (chronological) and not least, it invites the protagonist to be playful with the concept of time and his/her multi-role human nature
