The article aims to study how the assumption of urban health as a common good can change the contemporary urbanization trends and face the crisis of planning practices and urban policies. The author moves from two theoretical assumptions. On the one hand, urbanization is viewed as an ecological process, and, on the other hand, urban health as a common good is recognized as a guiding principle to realize planning and public participation practices oriented to build a new urban ecological regime.
