The intellectuals in the SS War machine - This review analyzes the book of the French historian Christian Ingrao on a group of young intellectuals engagés in the Security Service (SD) of the SS. Ingrao reconstructs the biographical paths of eighty "intellectuals", from their education, the recruitment in the Nsdap structure, and, then, the involvement during the War, mainly after the invasion of the Soviet Union, in the extermination of Jews on the Eastern Front.
