The author, director of the journal, presents his own conception of care matured in more than forty years of clinical and teaching experience. Starting from the concept of "person", understood as "other" in respect to a somatic-psychic organism studied only through the tools of science, he proposes to present some reflections on the job of therapist and educator. Using a constant parallel between his thoughts about life and his thoughts about therapy, and through parts that are clinical but especially existential, the author presents a model of therapy that puts the person of the therapist in the center. This model, through the care of self, proposes and offers the patient an example and a real testimony of what the model of therapy is and the possibility of cure the he himself is pursuing
