La violenza domestica è considerata uno dei maggiori problemi di sanità pubblica in tutto il mondo. L’obiettivo di questo lavoro è quello di identificare le conseguenze della violenza domestica perpetrata dagli uomini sul benessere fisico delle donne che la subiscono. A tale scopo è stata effettuata un’attenta recensione della letteratura internazionale, la quale ha portato all’identificazione di una molteplicità di conseguenze sul benessere fisico e riproduttivo, e di alcuni dei meccanismi che collegano i maltrattamenti a queste conseguenze. I maltrattamenti perpetrati all’interno delle mura domestiche hanno degli effetti plurimi e devastanti, sia di lungo che di breve termine, sulla salute delle donne che li subiscono.;
