Il trauma psicologico precoce è stato tradizionalmente associato a problematiche psicopato-logiche, anche se ci sono sempre maggiori evidenze che ne sostanziano il ruolo quale fattore di rischio per patologie comunemente dette "organiche". In questo contributo viene analizzato il ruolo di eventi traumatici precoci e lo sviluppo in età adulta di patologie di tipo cardiovascolare attraverso una sintesi narrativa della letteratura scientifica recente sull’argomento. I contributi analizzati evidenziano un ruolo significativo degli eventi trau-matici precoci nel predisporre l’individuo adulto al verificarsi di eventi cardiovascolari. I possibili meccanismi delineano possibili aree di intervento che aprono al ruolo fondamentale della psicologia clinica in termini di interventi terapeutici e preventivi da realizzare nell’area delle problematiche cardiovascolari.;
