The aim of this ‘photographic reportage’ is to reveal the disappeared order of the Neapol¬itan periurban area, through the reconstruction of recurrences, analogies, alignments and other traces. An ‘archaeological’ report that places the photographer in a critical position, requiring a deep understanding of the places, through a systematic, serial reading of them. This understanding can only take place by implementing that operation of total immersion of the author within the landscape. An act that recalls the philosopher Witt¬genstein’s concept of “criss- crossed landscape” knowing a territory means crossing it far and wide, observing it from different points of view. The theory is that the seriality of photography, as a harmonious composition of an invisible order, can reveal and show the latent potential of places, and in this case of the periurban, contradictory and complex space. Giving value to its transitory character, between town and country, and to its latent possibility of becoming a relational space between society and environment.
