The author traces the more than decade-long dialogue with Donna Orange, a leading exponent of intersubjective psychoanalysis who died tragically on Nov. 16, 2024. Highlights of Donna Orange's thought become paragraphs describing her dialogue with Gestalt psychotherapy: the clinical concept of field, fallibilism, compassion, self-in-relation, climatic crisis, contextualism and complexity constitute the various themes of this article, which, as in a kaleidoscope, intertwine and change shape depending on the perspective from which they are viewed. The author cites landmark authors in both the Gestalt and psychoanalytic fields, which form the background of a very rich dialogue that will continue to inspire generations of psychotherapists.
