The “transdiagnostic” approach to neurodevelopmental disorders can foster research and communication, but lacks theory. Without a theoretical model, identifying the causes of cognitive and behavioral disorders beyond their description and categorization is impossible. A first step towards change is to overcome the methodological distinction between developmental neuropsychology and adult neuropsychology.
