Sociologia del diritto was established in 1974 by Renato Treves, who was succeeded by Vincenzo Ferrari in 1992. It is edited by the Permanent Sociology of Law Committee at the Centro Nazionale di Prevenzione e Difesa Sociale at the University of Milan. The only Italian review to cover the sociology of law, it publishes theoretical and historical studies as well as empirical research into legal systems and how they are transformed, the production and implementation of legal norms, the legal profession and public opinion of the law.
