An article that appeared in the journal Quotidiano Sanità on Dec. 18, 2015, authored by ten Italian psychiatrists (eight of them are Directors of Community Mental Health Centers), is reprinted. The limitations of psychiatry are discussed, and argued, among other things, that antisocial patients need a specific treatment that is not available in the newly opened "Residences for the Execution of Safety Measures" (REMS), which do not guarantee sufficient safety and consistency of treatment deemed necessary for these difficult patients.
