Starting from the seventies, and as a consequence of economic transformations and of life courses, the traditional detachment between education and work has been brought into question. The educational system has much more focused on the ‘social practices related to work’ and narrowed its functional dependency from the labour market. Starting from this perspective, the province of Bologna has launched new interventions regarding the relationship between school, territory and work. In this essay this organizational field is reconstructed and the main critical aspects highlighted.
