This essay examines the key issues of Nussbaum’s thought that allow her to gain ground in terms of anthropological enrichment. In particular, the contribution of the Aristotelian revival and the related concept of vulnerability to her political proposal is shown. It is suggested that some passages of Nussbaum’s arguments, however, especially the definition of emotions and some features of her interpretation of capability approach, risk to reduce this fundamental contribution, and perhaps would deserve some changes.
