Restorative justice enables victim, offender, and community to participate freely, consensually, actively and voluntarily, in the resolution of conflicts arising from the crime, with the help of an impartial third party, the mediator. Legislative Decree n. 150/2022 implemented the Cartabia reform, introducing into the Italian legal system an organic discipline of restorative justice. The article analyzes its novelties, impact and range.
