Paris Métropole: devices and projects for metropolitan action - In 2001, Pierre Mansat, councillor in the municipality of Paris in charge of relations with the local communities of Île-de- France, launched an experiment of an explorative nature targeted at creating spaces and opportunities for metropolitan governance between Paris and its surrounding municipalities This article illustrates the reasons behind this ‘metropolitan action’ and discusses its methods, difficulties and limits in the Parisian context.
