Prevention and career development - Related to the importance of career development for educational and career attainment and psychological well-being across the life span, career development is an important focus for prevention activity. We describe how career development fits with contemporary models of prevention, examine relevant career development research, provide examples of career development prevention, and discuss how professional training can be enhanced to better prepare counselors to deliver career development interventions that enhance educational, social, psychological and career strengths.
