In this article the hypothesis of a relationship among early experiences of relational trauma and subsequent psychopathological symptoms of dissociative type will be considered. The Authors will explain the therapeutic process with a seriously ill patient showing both somatic symptoms (sterility sine causes) and psychological symptoms (depersonalization). Particular emphasis is given to the therapeutic relationship as a secure interpersonal context that allows to integrate the dissociate implicit memories connected to the traumatic experience.
