The political paradigm of modernity, based on the state monopoly of power and the legitimate use of violence to guarantee and preserve social order, seems to have entered an irreversible crisis. Politics lost its control and leading capacity, and rather seems to nurture disorder and uncertainty. Moving from Marco Revelli’s La politica perduta (Einaudi, Torino 2003), the author hopes for the birth of a new politics, radically non-violent, countering the vertical logic of power with the art of interconnection, reciprocity and cooperation, able to accompany humankind in its way from the world of tribes to the planetary city, as Ernesto Balducci showed.
